Preferred and Accepted File Types
-
Many types and versions of software exist. Some are more suited than others for transferring to another person or computer. For example, most word processor programs (e.g., Word or WordPerfect) do not embed the font style in the file. Because of this, if the computer used to open the file does not have the same font used to create the document, a different font will be substituted from those available on the new machine. For most business documents, letters, or standard font types (see below), this does not create a problem. When a problem does arise, it usually manifests in the form of completely reorganizing the layout of your file. Please be aware of this issue.
- Adobe PDF or 100% compatible PDF file ( .pdf). You can make PDF files for free. See below.
- Adobe Illustrator CS3 or below (.ai)*
- Adobe Photoshop CS3 or below (.psd)*
- Corel Draw X4 or below (.cdr, .cdt, .cmx)*

PDFs and Conversion:
Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), is an industry standard file sharing tool used widely in many industries. Most computers are preloaded with Adobe Reader which allows you to view these file types, but you are not able to create PDF files. If you do not have Adobe Reader, click on the link below and you can download it for free.
To create a PDF file, simply follow this link to PDF Converter. It is a free, web-based conversion that will make a PDF from most common software file types.
Fonts:
There are literally 1000s of fonts available to use on your computer and during the design process. Below is a list of common font styles that are found on almost every computer system. If you are sending a file in Word or some other word processing file, choosing one of these fonts will assure you that your file will be able to print as it looks on your screen:
Arial, Courier New, Times New Roman, Arial Black, Comic Sans MS, Impact, Georgia, Trebuchet MS, Verdana, CG Times, Lucida.
Don't worry though! If you use or want to use something different, there is a good chance we have the font or something similar. If you have questions, don't hesitate to contact us!
